This unit will store 3.1 liters of cold water and 1 liter of hot water. As the water is dispensed from both temperatures it will refill into the tank and begin to heat and cool. So far it seems to be working okay. The features I like best are when the green light is on, that means the water is not ready, its heating (or cooling). So green means: wait a minute (that's odd from a functional design standpoint). Second, green light in the front off can mean two things: "ready for use" or in case you or someone else has switched off either heating or cooling function with the button on the back. It sounds confusing but after one or two attempts it's easy to understand. Once you know and understand this it is not a problem. Finally: buttons in back: Red means hot water on or off, green means cool water on or off, blue means night light on or off. (Why not: red=hot and blue=cold?)

What was hard for me was getting it hooked up the water to lines under the sink. I had to ask someone to do it for me. 

This product is attractive and it would look nice in a den, kitchen, game room or basement. I'm not too happy about the cost of the replacement filters; just shop around for the best price. One more thing I'm not too happy about - the hot water is not hot enough to make an enjoyable cup of coffee or tea. However, I do recommend this product.

Attractive and easy to use water dispenser

The whole family drinks water, but our local water is not super tasty from the faucet! We have used delivery service, and refilled our own bottles... all less desirable options. I found Avalon and asked for it as a Christmas gift. Santa Delivered! I loved it from day 1! I had to contact support for help with installation, and "René M" was so great! Responsive and helpful and I was up and running within minutes of our email exchange.

This has been a very challenging project for me that I have under taken in a long time. I had to accomplish several tasks to complete this. I had to run a water line under my sink to the Avalon water cooler / dispenser, which was easy but I could not get the line to stay in because of the force of the water. I did not have enough strength in my hand to push it all the way on. So I needed help from my grandson to push it in for me. In addition to all this the instruction pamphlet was small, in black and gray and hard to see. But the customer service staff was very helpful and I was able to get everything working properly. Cold and hot water at my finger tip. I can have a cup of tea, hot chocolate or a bowl of hot cereal whenever I want without turning on the stove or microwave. This is wonderful and it is sitting on my counter.
This water cooler has child safety lock, is self- cleaning, and has a night light and bottless filtered for your water. This product is also UL and Energy Star listed and approved.

I am doing a review on the Avalon Countertop Self Cleaning Bottleless Water Cooler Water Dispenser - Hot & Cold Water. First off, it looks very durable. I'm sure it will last a long time. It looks very well made. It looks very expensive with a touch of class added to your kitchen. I was not able to hook this thing up myself. First of all, it would not fit on my kitchen cabinets. That is why I took a picture of it sitting on a tv tray and showing you the parts instead of showing you when it is all hooked up. I had my neighbor come over and install it for me. He just happens to be a plumber. Since it wouldn't fit on my countertop I just placed it on my floor in front of the open doors under the sink. He had to use his own tool and tape to put this together. He said it was simple to do. He did not have to look at the manual. There is a manual but the pictures are too dark to make out what it is trying to show you. I will be deducting one star for that. It has an activating self cleaning function. You just press a switch to start it. You need to do this once weekly and do not use the dispenser while this is in progress. It will sanitized the water tank and water lines. The cycle will last about ninety minutes. The cold water will be about 47 F degrees and the hot water will be about 189 F degrees. After it was all set up I did not need any ice for my cold water. I don't drink coffee or tea but I do drink hot chocolate. It makes a great hot chocolate. It comes with a filter that will get rid of rust, lead, chlorine and bacteria. You need to change the filter every 6 months or every 1500 gallons of water whichever comes first. The filter can be bought here at Walmart. I checked. I hate to have something and not be able to find a part for it. It is an NSF Certified Activated Carbon Filter. It comes with a removable drip tray at the bottom to catch spills. The hot water has a child protector lock on the dispensing button. This is a great plus to me. There is a night light between the hot and cold water dispensers. You are able to turn on and off the cold, hot water or the nightlight whenever you want to. You can turn the cold water off all the time if all you want is hot water for coffee. This is a great product. It just needs a clearer manual with clearer instructions. I do recommend this product. It is 12" x 12" x 19"

Wow, It Cleans Itself

First off, I don't normally write many reviews on W because once you've submitted the review, you can't change it later.  So you buy something and you only use it a short time and then it fails, what good is that.  And if I wait 90s, I'll never submit a review.  Anyway, the amazing part here is initial installation was about 5 mins, no kidding.  I already have an under sink filter so I just used scissors to cut into that and install the 3 way and I was good to go.   I think you're supposed to wait for the tank to fill then before using either hot or cold, make sure the water flows.  Ok, 1st problem, the 'self clean' light is on all the time.  Um, from what I researched this is normal.  The light on, solid, means power is working.  Blinks when you're self cleaning and what about that.  The manual I got mentions nothing about using or self clean or any of that; just installation.  I had to download and read a manual from a diff model with similar features.   Cold took awhile, an hr or two to get ice cold, hot maybe 30, 40 mins but 185 is nearly boiling temp.   I didn't want the tubing hanging out my kitchen cabinet so decided to drill a hole in the sink.  Don't use a wood bit for this.  You'll need a bit that can go thru stainless steel.  I don't know the size exactly but I bought a set of grommets because I can't buy just one at the store, and I used one that the 1/4 tubing would go thru snugly then used a bit to start a hole and a step bit (for making holes) to make this wider until I could fit the grommet into.  The tube goes in that and it's protected from getting cut by the grommet and it's so small and leak proof as to be unnoticeable.  Then ran the rest of the tubing around the back wall of the kitchen.  As far as I can tell, there's a pump in the unit so you could even use replaceable water bottles with this but can't be 100% certain since I didn't try this.

Install was pretty simple, cold water came out clear right away the hot water is quick for making bowls of instant oatmeal or cups of tea. The taste is OK. I've been drinking bottled water for so long that I probably just got used to that taste. The water dispenser is useful for me, I tend to drink more water when its individually bottled, so what I do now is when the bottled water that I had ran out I reused the bottles by filling them up from the dispenser as well as empty milk container jugs-fill them up and refrigerate and I save money that way.

Counter top model water cooler dispenser

I use this in my home kitchen. It was easy to install. I like how it looks on my counter top. The hot water is great for making tea. The cold water is nice too. I have cold water in my water bottle now. If there is any down fall it's the size and the filter. Make sure you measure if you plan on putting it on your counter top under cabinets. Also the filter isn't cheap and it's only for 6 months.
