Looks like Nintendo is preparing for the Christmas Season! This is currently big news, as the Nintendo Wii has finally dropped in price. Not only has it dropped $50, but Amazon is also offering Free Shipping, a Free $25 gift card, and no tax for certain states like California. I seriously contemplated getting one, but unfortunately I have no TV. Haven’t had one for over 7 years now.
As Christmas approaches, toys seem to be an enormous seller. Amazon has been slashing prices on Toys lately to try to liquidate their stock. KB Toys just filed bankruptcy (oy!), so they’re liquidating all their toys as well before Christmas. If you’re looking for toys, Amazon is a strong bet. Free shipping on $25+ or using Prime, which is currently only $59 instead of $79 (super cheap).
For my Christmas Shopping, I am definitely utilizing Amazon.com. Why? I get free shipping on $25+, and I don’t have to pay the outrageous 8.25% sales tax in California. Gotta love that. In addition, I don’t know how Amazon is over 50% cheaper than Toys R Us and eToys, but I will not complain and take advantage of the cheap prices.
Games and toys are always a safe bet, especially for children. Regarding adults, board games are always a safe bet too. Most turn it into a drunken fest, or others do it on a calm night in the log cabin for Skiing. Enjoy!
Well, everybody knows the Nintendo Wii is high in demand, but I am going to list 5 BUDGET toys that are affordable to families out there. Right now times are a little tougher, so we need to spend wisely.
I am also a promoter of toys that intellectually stimulate your child like Legos, which allows creativity in building, rather than a doll that doesn’t move. That’s just me though.
My thoughts on this device: Allows your child to go exploring with the LCD for specimens, so they’ll actually get outdoors rather than play video games all day to impair their eyes. It’ll get them exercise, get them to explore nature, and allows them to understand how technology works through the “digital camera” feature. It won quite a few awards and has a high rating on Amazon.
The Bionic Cam Boasting is the next generation of the award winning Bionic Eye, with a full color LCD screen, Multiple lenses and battery pack, Everyone can take EyeClops on the go explore the world around you indoor and outdoors
Use the LCD screen as a viewfinder for specimens, zoom in with one of three powerful new magnifications (100x, 200x and an eye popping 400x) and take digital pictures and video of your amazing discoveries, and send around the world via the internet.
Save and share your findings with the built-in flash drive and removable USB key – view on any standard television and upload your files to your PC to email and send to friends USB Key included
Portable and recordable, the EyeClops BioniCam is the ultimate Bionic Eye

Rated 5/5 stars and 93 reviews on Amazon. Great way to get your kids into M.I.T. or Cal-Tech. This is quite nerdy, but very fun. It allows your child to understand how Circuits Work and how to build them, similar to what Electrical Engineers do (salaries start typically at $70,000 with a B.S.).

Thoughts? It’s rated 4/5 stars from 5 reviews, and is relatively new. However, it seems like a very legit and fun game, similar to Dance Dance Revolution. It’ll get your child exercise and requires constant motion rather than just sitting there the whole time staring at the TV. Seems to be fun, interactive, and healthy.

Rated 4.5/5 stars by 20 reviews. This is a highly fun, interactive, and intellectually stimulating game. This is the family edition, so it’s different from previous editions. It allows parents and children to be engaged in activity together in a competitive space (RARE!).

This type of toy truly stimulates the brain of the child. It’s interactive, yet lets them build vocabulary (a big PLUS for those taking the SATs later ). Builds phonics skills, which is pretty important for later in life! I like this. It’s also $50 at Target, but Amazon offers Free Shipping and NO tax for most states. Other perks:

I have been thinking about some nerdy gifts to give to colleagues. I’d like your feedback on them too, and any input you have on additional gifts. E-mail me any thoughts too albert@ (cheap 3 times).com [preventing spamming here. Don’t ever put your address written out on Wordpress. Spambots hunt you!]
Gifts:
1. Subscription to the NSA. Not the government NSA. The National Scrabble Association. Talk about scrabble lovers. They have their own association AND a subscription. It’s $20 and you get 8 copies of the Scrabble News mailed to your home.
2. Konoha Leaf Headband. Okay, this may not be the best example, but for those who watch Animation like Naruto (I do), this is one nerdy gift. It’s at Amazon for $13 + Shipping.
3. Binary Watch - If you don’t know Binary Code, don’t ask. You’re not nerdy enough. Well, it’s “bi” for 0/1. Boolean code if you get what I’m talking about. If you know somebody who is a complete tech/math/nerdy geek, this might be a go. It’s quite pricey, but they’ll get a huge kick out of it. Sells for $70 at ThinkGeek.com.
4. Solar Powered Hat - Okay. If you’re in Sunny Ol’ California like me, it gets hot sometimes. What better way to be “Green” like everyone else in California… by not using batteries, and utilizing SOLAR power. Well, now you can jog or wear a hat that utilizes the “Green” initiative while keeping cool. You could pick one up on eBay, but it’s like $30+.
5. This must be by far the nerdiest gift I’ve ever seen. Mana potions. I admit that I used to be an avid Diablo 2 player and kept using mana potions for my Sorceress, but this is just plain ol’ nerdy. Thinkgeek sells 6 for $20. In the game, you can only store 4 at a time, unfortunately. Ultimate nerd.
Each tiny shot (in perhaps the coolest bottle ever) gives you as much get-up-and-kill as 2 Red Bulls® or 4 cups of office coffee (i.e. the crappy kind). Each shot is sorta sweet/tart in a delightful way and will load you up with caffeine and tons of brain boosters (and yet, no sugar). If you want more Mana in your game, then you need more Mana Energy Potion in your life. Mana Energy Potion - because licking your monitor is dumb.
From my shopping experience, Amazon always has the best prices on Toys. I’ve compared their prices to Toys R Us and eToys, and they dominate. For example, a $5 toy on Amazon sells for $30 at eToys. Jeez! Think about the profit margins.
Amazon has 7 promotions on toys which can be combined. This is a pretty sweet glitch that may help you save HUGE for the upcoming Holiday Seasons!
This is a super deal to stock up for Christmas early.

Who would have known that Barnes and Nobles sells many board games? I didn’t! They’re not just a bookstore, but also recreational spot with Starbucks Coffee.
While Target sells games typically for about $20, you can utilize Barnes & Nobles’ clearance sale. Many games are 75% off, plus an additional 25% off using the coupon code below.
The Game of Life is one of my personal favorites. Monopoly is still #1, however.
